The Japanese really know some good ways on how to commemorate their games: in a tie up with SD card maker Hagiwara, Taito is doling out demos of their Space Invaders spin-off title Invader Chain for every purchase of specially-marked Hagiwara MicroSD cards. Taito Corporation has announced that it has released three new titles for T-Mobile Phones. The games are pretty good and includes classics such as Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2, Space Invaders Pinball, and The Legend of Kage.

Mobile gamers who would like to have classic video game titles on their phones might want to check out the latest releases from Taito Corporation. The company recently announced that Chase H.Q. 3D and Elevator Action 3D are now available on select models of Sprint Nextel mobile phones (i.e. Sanyo MM- 7500, MM-8300, MM-9000, SCP-6600 Katana and SCP-8400).

Chase H.Q. first appeared on arcades back in 1988. It's an adventure racing game that features an unmarked police car and the dispatcher Nancy on their quest to hunt down criminal suspects. The upgraded mobile version of Elevator Action 3D, on the other hand, offers an FPS twist to the timeless classic.

"Chase H.Q. 3D and Elevator Action 3D offer mobile gamers the thrill of action arcade games in a conveniently smaller package. They're pocket-sized adrenaline rushes," said Taito Corporation Game Producer Keiji Fujita. Both games are available for US$ 2.99 (monthly subscription) and US$ 6.99 (unlimited use).

It seems like Majesco Entertainment's sleeper hit won't stop with just a sequel. Cooking Mama is on a hot streak, and she's going to mobile phones. Publisher Taito Corporation just announced that "the popular fast-action cooking simulator" is ready to serve.

The game was originally released for the Nintendo DS, and was was praised for its innovative design and use of the handheld's functions. With this new Cooking Mama iteration coming to mobile phones, we're quite interested in finding out how this version will turn out. Co-producer Keiji Fujita is confident that Cooking Mama will do well on its new platform, saying "the style of gameplay is accessible and fun for casual and serious gamers of all ages."

Cooking Mama for mobiles should hit the U.S. in early 2008 via major mobile carriers. Pricing will be dependent on the individual carriers. We don't know why price should prevent anyone from grabbing this sizzling title; it's almost criminal not to have it.

 

Sometimes, it's nice to play old computer games; they're quite simplistic, but the gameplay on some of them is really great, and they remind you of your childhood. These may be old games, but they offer a refreshing change of pace after the next-gen console console diet that all of us have been ingesting these days.
