Sony Ericsson has announced the latest in its P-series smart phone, the Sony Ericsson P1. The fifth generation of the P-series smart phone is lauded to be the most feature-rich yet among the line.Steve Walker, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson, describes the company's latest smart phone: In one sense the Sony Ericsson P1 is an evolution of our P-series smartphones, as it pushes forward the best attributes of its predecessors. At the same time there are also significant improvements in design, speed and battery performance. The P1 is about 25% smaller than the P990, and supports consumer and corporate email, WLAN, and VoIP. Of course, no smart phone would be as smart without multimedia capabilities, that's why the P1 is geared with a 3.2 megapixel camera with business card scanner, media player, and 512MB Memory Stick Micro. Some of its other features include the following:
Walker further states, It's the details that set these phones apart. Our designers have taken inspiration from nature and the Nordic light to produce phones that are beautiful to look at and alive with energy. They appeal to those who want to celebrate their individuality and express themselves through their choice of phone. The T650 is a 3G phone with 3.2 megapixel camera and media player, and comes in Growing Green and Midnight Blue. As for the S500, it houses a 2.0 megapixel camera that is hidden by the slider, and comes in Mysterious Green and Spring Yellow. No details yet as to when these units will be shipped, or for how much. No pictures to revel in, either. We'll be sure to keep you posted on these three, though. |

After the Pretty Kitty phone, BenQ-Siemens does it again; women and men (why not?) will be rushing to get their hands on the company's new SL80 slider phone.BenQ-Siemens has released their new triband GSM/EDGE SL80 handset which is designed for the fashion-conscious consumer. The handset has proSLIDE, the semi-automatic sliding mechanism that makes opening and closing your phone easier compared to flip phones and other sliders. The SL80 also comes with 52MB of storage to back up your videos and pictures taken via the 1.3 megapixel camera. The music player application supports MP3 and AAC+
formats (something that the pretty kitty phone didn't have). The 1.8" screen sports a 132x176 resolution and has a 262k transflective TFT
display. The phone also has the PictBridge support which allows you to connect to a bluetooth-enabled printer so you can print out your images instantly. This new feminine slider serves as the successor to the earlier SL75 which proved to be a hit and is aimed at the design-conscious user. The handset comes with an ultra-stylish charm (also in shimmery metallic rose, of course) upon purchase. BenQ believes the SL80 will be a sure hit with women who would rather don a stylish phone than a stiff-looking polished deep black one. Sadly though, the phone only comes in this color. And guys, it's not pink; it's mauve. |

You guys remember the Korea-exclusive Samsung SPH-S4300 phone that we talked about a few months ago? Well, those who cried themselves to sleep because they couldn't use that phone in the US can now sleep on dry pillows, because the Samsung X830, a GSM version of the SPH-S4300, is coming.
The X830 is a slider phone that has its number keys arranged in two columns instead of the usual three. That means it's thinner and easier to hold, just like the SPH-S4300. The x830's got a 128x200 screen and supports MP3, WMA, OGG, DCF, and SMP. It also comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera. The SPH-S4300 had 1GB of internal memory, but there's a bit of confusion regarding the X830's memory capacity, as iDNES.cz says that it only has 82mb. We'll post something as soon as this issue becomes clear. No info yet for this baby's pricing or availability. Expect an article here when that information comes out. |
