If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Amycall's mobile offering is going for the gold. The phone manufacturer's PS3 phone carries other concepts "borrowed" from other consoles, the details of which you can pick up over in the full article. |

LG Electronics' award-winning Shine phone now has a new and more down-to-earth variation. Introducing the LG Shine Wood LG-LB2500H, a DMB television-enabled phone sporting a grand-spanking retro chic retractable antenna that's sure to wow the fashionable set. Tree huggers shouldn't worry, however, since it's not actually made of wood despite its fine wood grain finish. This new LG Shine variant sports DMB television compatibility, as well as an electronic dictionary. The phone is currently exclusive only to Korea, however, so unless you're willing to import this cool device its best to just ogle LG's Shine Wood from afar, at least for now. |

If you know your basic internet culture, you probably already know that the question on every other person's mind online is "what insanely innovative stiff will Google come up with next?" Today, we have the answer for you: Google-owned YouTube is coming to mobile phones soon. The most popular video sharing site in the world has signed a deal with the fifth-largest mobile handset maker in the world today, LG Electronics of South Korea. At the core of the agreement is the development of a mobile phone which can access the YouTube server and deliver streaming clips on the go. It's never been done or attempted before, but LG says a working design could be seen as early as this year. "LG Electronics will unveil a mobile handset that fully supports the YouTube service for the first time in Europe in the second half of this year," said the company in a statement. Right now, YouTube has around 100 million users worldwide, driving up the demand to have it in every appropriate medium. It has some 70,000 user-created content which are readily accessible and are steadily on the rise. |

Someone has finally stepped up to challenge Samsung's claim on the title of world's thinnest LCD, and that someone is... Samsung? As it turns out, subsidiary Samsung SDI has announced that it has bested its parent company's shortly-held record by a few millimeters. According to The Korea Times, Samsung SDI's LCD comes in at a mere 0.74 millimeters thick, more than enough to push Samsung Electronics' 0.82 mm thick LCD down to second place. Samsung SDI's new record holder is still in prototype form, and still has a ways to go before it actually finds its way onto phones. The company has already announced that it will make an appearance on their "next-generation phones." Right now, though, consumers can expect to see Samsung's thicker-yet-still-really-thin 1.9 mm LCD, which will be going into mass production before it winds up on the new Ultra Edition II handsets this spring. |

Hands-On Mobile announced
today at 3GSM that it would bring its original multiplayer game,
Hero's Lore 2: The Knight of Frozen Sea, to Europe. This mobile game title hit the top of the
charts in Korea, one of the world's most advanced mobile content
markets.
Hero's Lore 2 is a network-based mobile RPG consisting of over 200 characters, 100 different map scenarios and over 1,000 community guilds. Pretty huge numbers for a mobile game, eh? Since its launch in November 2006, over 1.5 million network battles have taken place every week and an average of more than 25,000 gamers play every day.
Don't just take his word for it, though. Leading Korean industry publications KyungHyang Game News and MPortal report that both Hero's Lore games tops their 2006 mobile user surveys in areas of brand recognition, user experience, game quality and commercial success. Only time will tell if the same rings true once it hits the European mobile gaming market. |

This December, Samsung will be releasing it's newest bomb, the SCH-B550. This phone will simply blow you away because -get this- it is primarily designed for video games! Yep, as opposed to the more conventional models where games are merely part of the phone's applications, this one right here rolls out the red carpet for games.
Mainly, it supports 3D graphics, Joypad, TV output, GXG support, and features DMB mobile TV, an MP3 player, a 2Mpix camera and Bluetooth. Of course, there's a whole lot more. Oh, and yeah, there's still that feature for calls and whatnot. You know, those minor other applications. Yes, it is a beauty. And it will soon be out. Uh...did we mention it's only for Korea? Don't be hatin'. |
