HP logo - Image 1 HP and its iPAQ line of smartphones haven't exactly had the kind of earth-shaking success that some of its rivals have had so far, but that isn't stopping the consumer electronics giant from trying to pierce the US market. An FCC posting has revealed that the HP iPAQ 900 may be headed Stateside soon, and we've got some details in the full article up next.

ipaq 210 - Image 1 Businessmen who are always on the lookout for the latest gadgets to show off at work should take heed: Prices and launch dates for HP's new iPaq 120 and 210 handhelds are finally announced. iPaq 110 will have a pricetag worth US$ 299, while 210 will be priced a hundred dollars more at US$ 399. Both devices will be out tomorrow, October 8.

Both iPaq 110 and 210 will use Windows Mobile 6, and have colored TFT screens, WiFi, Marvell PXA310 processors as well as Bluetooth. One of the things that sets apart the iPaq 210 from the 110 is its ability to use a biometric fingerprint reader, adding more security to their sensitive files. telenav HP iPAQ hw6920 now comes even more handy with a TeleNav GPS Navigator Service from Cingular. We visited the site and found that  you could actually try this service free for a month if you got the hw6920.

The Telenav service already runs on other third party wireless providers such as SouthernLINC Wireless, Sprint Nextel, and Boost Mobile. The service costs you US$ 9.99 -- a very affordable price compared to a GPS system hooked up to your mobile gadget (that may cost around a minimum of US$ 300).

If you make a wrong turn whether you're driving or on foot, the Telenav will automatically reroute you. If you're out of cash or needed some gas, it will direct you to the nearest ATM or gas stations. The thing has got all the makings of an extremely functional GPS tool -- right down to the digital compass that tells you where you're heading and your current speed. With the hot HP iPAQ hw6920 to back you up, you won't be lost even if you're spending the holiday at Zanzibar.

iPAQHP's latest Pocket PC, the iPAQ hw6940, is now being sold at the HP website. The device costs $599 and is available with several carriers. Apparently Cingular will also sell it in their official store soon. Some of the pictures we've seen over the couple past months actually showed the Cingular logo, so you decide.

The store has the following information: "The HP iPAQ hw6900 Mobile Messenger provides all the essentials to keep your business running even when you're away from the office -- phone, e-mail, and more secure access to business-critical information. At the same time, let your HP iPAQ keep life fun using GPS Navigation, the HP Photosmart Camera, and Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 Mobile to play your digital music and videos."

You might recall that this created a hype before, so we'll see how this turns out. No word on releases in other territories yet either. But don't worry, we'll keep you informed, so just check QJ regularly for your daily dose of Pocket PC info.

HP iPAQ rx4000 Mobile Media CompanionA few days ago, HP revealed the iPAQ rx4000 Mobile Media Companion. While it certainly looked impressive, the public couldn't get much from HP regarding the rx4000's features and capabilities. HP decided to throw a force field around this baby after they took the wraps off, but just recently that force field has been breached.

According to reports, the rx4000 will use a 400MHz processor by Samsung. RAM is said to be at 64MB, and it will have 128MB of ROM. This upcoming handheld will also have a 2.8-inch screen with 240x320px QVGA resolution. The rx4000 will also have both Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0.

Now the biggest thing here is that there have been references to 1GB of ROM. It seems like HP will be releasing at least one version of the rx4000 which will offer this much internal storage. The rx4000 is a multimedia device after all, so 1GB of internal storage is good news.

The iPAQ rx4000 Mobile Media Companion is set to be introduced some time next month. Prices will start at $299. If you're interested in other HP products, check out this earlier QJ article.

hw6925It's been confirmed that HP's hw6900, which combines an iPAQ Pocket PC and cell phone (T-Mobile or Cingular) into a single unit, will be released this weekend. But that's not all the good news we have for today.

Reports say that the next Mobile Messenger from HP will be model number hw6920/hw6925 through Cingular. It seems the hw6925 will have a camera while the hw6920 won't. Release for these babies is also expected to be this weekend.

Also, T-Mobile customers shouldn't feel left out, as HP is reportedly in the final stages of confirming a combined release with T-Mobile.
