Gothic 3 for the PC - Image 1Game publisher JoWooD has just announced that they have a new game being readied for the Mobile phone community, titled Gothic 3: The Beginning. The game is to be developed by the HandyGames group and is actually the mobile port of Gothic 3 for the PC, developed by Piranha Bytes.

This game will put players behind the controls of a Nameless Hero as they explore the lands of Khorinis and Tirith. The game consists mostly of slaying wild beasts and monsters, so this shouldn't be anything too complicated for the mobile phone owners. As for the rest of Gothic 3: The Beginning's features:
  • Visit various locations in Khorinis and Tirith
  • Chat with NPCs to find clues in your adventure and trade with merchants to gain the best equipment for your journey
  • Fight against hundreds of monsters and develop your skills to be able to use stronger arm our and weapons
  • Learn how to use long banned magic to gain enough power to accomplish your tasks
  • Find valuable treasures and pieces of equipment or take them from your conquered enemies
  • Pry locks and chests open to find rare treasures
  • Auto-save feature at checkpoints throughout the game allows players to continue their adventure at any time
Gothic 3: The Beginning is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2008. Hopefully, that's more than enough time for the devs to clear out all the previous bugs that crippled its otherwise hot-selling PC version. Stay tuned in case we pick up more details.

Horse and Pony is 1337!This is 100% absolute hardcore, baby.

The fury of Hell has nothing on this game, and the feeling of a riot in Vice City cannot compare to the sheer awesomeness of this piece of hardcore software.

What is it about? Horses and Ponies.

Not since Hardhat's release of Ponies and Kittens for the PSP has this writer been so completely stoked by a game title alone. Not only do you get to take care of horses and ponies, you're a bonafide stud as you own the horses in your very own stud farm! Better still, you can raise your little ponies to become powerful thoroughbreds that will dominate the equestrian world by storm, and all of that action is on your mobile phone.

"With Horse & Pony - My Stud Farm," asserts HandyGames CEO Christopher Cassulke, "we focus on the conquest of the female target group which in our opinion didn’t get too much attention until now." All kidding aside, you can probably be sure about how we feel regarding this new mobile game. It might be fun for a sim on your phone if you imagine your ponies to be demonic hellspawn of some sort, but it seems that developers are still clueless about games for girls not always serving up a stereotypical image of the female gamer.

Still, it may just be a game with a weird premise but surprisingly well-made gameplay. You can never tell with the mobile market so try and get one when it comes out on December 12. In the meantime, here are some screens of you and your friends going about the business of becoming the best horse trainer in the world. Note: You're the girl in the title screen, alright?

Now, time to get back to my ponies...

Mobile phones are home to crazy and addictive puzzle games for casual gamers. Playing Splinter Cell on your mobile is too much work when you're stuck in traffic. And when you've had enough of Tetris (or variations of it), you look for more fun games that don't resemble blocks or shapes falling from the top of the screen.

Enter HandyGames' Liftboy. It's a must-have if you're up for some 1930s elevator action. The game doesn't resemble the classic Nintendo game Elevator Action, where there's some violence involved. This time, you transport hotel guests from floor to floor with the ultimate goal of getting a high tip at the end of the day. Of course, you'll have to turn on that charm and start trifling with the guests. While that may sound easy, perhaps we should mention that you, being the Liftboy, would have to cope with the hotel manager's mood swings. Worse, you also have to calm your lift's soul *insert weird music here*.

The 30 game levels will surely keep you preoccupied for hours. Oh, by the way - in case you were wondering, flirting with the chambermaids is allowed. Now you know time will surely fly...

More Liftboy screens await after the jump.
