Sony has added the VAIO TX72 to its TX3 line of ultraportable widescreen laptops. While the TX72 sports an eye-catching sleek design, some of you may be put off by its Intel Core Solo processing power. Plus, as if to add insult to injury, it only runs at clock speed of 1.2GHz.

The TX72 comes with 512MB RAM and 80GB HDD capacity. You can opt for the lower storage capacities (40GB & 60GB), but would you really? Other than that, the TX72 still looks great with it's 11.1-inch widescreen LCD with LED backlighting. Battery life is at 10 hours with the Core Solo, or 7 hours if configured with 1.06Hgz Celeron M. It also features dual-layer DVD burner, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

The 3-pound TX72 will be available in Japan later this month for 229,800 Yen (about $2000).
