call of Juarez - Image 1 Welcome to the wild, wild West! Mobile fans will now get the chance to experience the excitement that is Call of Juarez which was once only available for the PC platform. Polish developers Techland and local publisher Breakpoint have joined forces and are charging forward with the exciting project.

Call of Juarez was a first-person shooter in its original iteration, but for the mobile version, it's adopting a top view approach to suit the platform better and make for better controls. The mood and the action, however, remain the same.

"Techland is one of the biggest and best-known Polish game producers home and abroad. Several of its titles, first of all the game 'Chrome', have been a success on the international market," says Breakpoint Licensing and Publishing Manager Pawe Feldman. "We consider our cooperation with Techland as strategic – it will surely increase awareness of Breakpoint brand among players," he adds.

The game will be available to US mobile phones later this year, so prepare to check with your provider and chase those dirty desperadoes out of town.

NurikabeNurikabe is a square-painting numerical puzzler from Breakpoint. The premise of the game is this: Dr. Tetsuo's lab need is in need of renovation. Genius that he is, Dr. Tetsuo can't help but make a menial and tedious task more mind-boggling than it usually is, so he came up with the idea to repaint his lab according to the rules of a game called Nurikabe.

The player gets a board of empty squares with a few numbers scattered about. The object of the game is to paint all the squares either white or blue, using the following rules:
  • The numbers are islands which show how many white squares make up the island (including the number square)
  • The islands can form any shape
  • Islands cannot touch (the white square of one cannot touch the side of the white square of another)
  • The islands must be separated by blue squares which must form one continuous wall (every blue square must touch the sides of at least two other blue squares)
  • Blue squares cannot form a block 2x2 or bigger
  • There is only one solution
Seems like a handful, don't it? Leave it to a genius (sounds more like "mad scientist" to us) to make us get a brain workout. If you like numerical puzzle games such as Sudoku, give Nurikabe a spin. It won't disappoint.

One of Breakpoint's most popular games for the mobile phone is the racing game Speedway. They are now putting out a second version of the game, this time in a new 3D look. Using their new engine JSR 184, players will get the feel of being behind the wheel, seeing what a racer sees as he goes around a fully realized speedway track.

All features of the original Speedway are implemented, including the official rules. Race through nine real-world tracks in three difficulty levels with this intuitive one-button gameplay. You can also race against the ghost of your (or someone else's) best time and upload your best times to the Speedway server.
