25th Annual golden Joystick Awards - Image 1 The results are in: chosen as this year's Ultimate Game of the Year in the Annual Golden Joystick Awards is (dun dun dun) Gears of War! Gears of War also won the All-Nighter Award, Editor's Choice Award and is the Xbox Game of the Year.

Other winners of the 25th Annual Golden Joystick Awards are the Nintendo Wii, which won Innovation of the Year, World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade as the Online Game of the Year, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as the Nintendo Game of the Year, and God of War II as the PlayStation Game of the Year.

Here are the other winners of the Golden Joystick Awards:

  • Family Game of the Year 2007: Wii Sports

The One HopeAccording to Gmedia, The One Hope, which they recently released, is the "biggest biggest mobile game to to be published globally this year". Japan gets a mega application with a 15-level 800 kilobyte version.

The One Hope is a turn-based RPG developed by Pascal Luban, who has previously been responsible for the console hit series Splinter Cell. Players control the unlikely hero Icarus, tasked to go on a perilous journey into the forgotten realm of his homeworld, Borea.

Five to fifteen levels await the hero in the single-player campaign, two different multiplayer modes are also available. One lets players help each other and share equipment and spells. In "Fortress" mode, they can build their own dungeons for other players to infiltrate and explore.

Matthew Lynch, CEO of Gmedia said: "Work has also begun on an XBOX LiveArcade, Nintendo DS and PC Casual versions for release in 2008. Already it is being compared to and is seen as serious competition for Zelda. We are pleased to working with partners who always saw the potential of this title and the ones to follow".

The One Hope is being made available in Europe , Japan, China, India, South America and North America, on 600+ handsets for 2 billion subscribers, arguably making it the mobile game with the biggest market penetration up to date.
