Square Enix Final Fantasy IV available for cellphones? - Image 1We're just as surprised as you are. The Nintendo DS may have been the prime platform to release the sequel - if ever they were to make one - to Final Fantasy IV, but a recent discovery over the Internet has swept that possibility aside. While a sequel was officially confirmed, it was not to arrive on Nintendo's handheld.

Details follow in the full story.

AMycall's PS3 mobile phone - Image 1If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Amycall's mobile offering is going for the gold. The phone manufacturer's PS3 phone carries other concepts "borrowed" from other consoles, the details of which you can pick up over in the full article.

Starship Troopers - Roughnecks for mobile - Image 1 Starship Troopers - Roughnecks for mobile - Image 2 Starship Troopers - Roughnecks for mobile - Image 3

Mobile games developer and publisher Ojom GmbH announced today that Starship Troopers - Roughnecks has been added to its library of games. It's now available on all main Java-enabled handsets and from major mobile operators of varied European languages.

Roughnecks, in case you don't know, is an adaptation of the Starship Troopers animated series where mankind is at war with a race of giant insects. Gameplay is quite simple as all you have to do is kill every arachnid in sight. Ojom GmbH Channel Manager Marc Buße commented,

We are delighted to add Starship Troopers to our list of titles; it is an exhilarating arcade style shoot 'em up that we hope will appeal to a cross section of mobile gamers. We feel that it's fast and lots of fun, but it also has an added element of uncertainty because you're never quite sure what could be waiting for you around the next corner.

On a little side note, Starship Troopers - Roughnecks is actually reminiscent of shooter games released on platforms Amiga and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

Xing Mobile has announced Super Nanat, another game in the Super Nanat, Alyssa and Bubu Kong franchise. The game is a Jump 'n Run in a "classic SNES style" and has players traversing in 12 gigantic levels in order to rescue Alyssa from the hairy clutches of Bubu Kong (If that doesn't sound like "classic SNES style" then I don't know what does).

Super Nanat can use a variety of weapons, power ups and sheer speed to defeat the monsters blocking his way to Alyssa and with that, his well-deserved vacation from rescuing girls. The game runs on all MIDP-2 phones with a screen resolution of 176x208 or higher.
