With their strong library of annual franchises, Electronic Arts has gone out on a limb to say that games have longer lifespans today. To prove their point, EA talked about MMOs, DLCs, and their ten-year plan for the upcoming game, Spore (PC, Nintendo Wii, DS,  Mac, Mobile). More details after the jump.

Guitar Hero for the Xbox 360 is already available on some areas, and so Ars Technica caught up with Harmonix producer Daniel Sussman to ask his views of this hit game. Although Harmonix and Red Octane has been bought by MTV and Activision respectively, Daniel says that he honestly feels excited about what other developers could bring to the table of the music game genre. There may be some gamers who think that while the gameplay updates are great in GH II, the songlist is not quite as varied as the first game. Daniel thinks, however, that with 10 more songs on the Guitar Hero II song list, there is actually more variety in there than in the first title. Releasing GH song downloads is also a new and exciting opportunity for record companies, bands and developers.

Daniel also wonders about the possibility of Sony releasing one of their titles on Live Arcade. The idea came from bringing the Sony-owned Frequency/Amplitude brand to the Live Arcade or as a PS3 download. Daniel's team is also considering trying to incorporate custom soundtracks in Guitar Hero for the Xbox 360.

Daniel says that he's living his dream, making a game like Guitar Hero. His last words may be up to the reader to digest well; when asked about his fave platform for GH, Daniel replies Guitar Hero can be a great experience for all platforms, albeit you don't really need much CPU mojo to run a great rhythm game...

As part of Viacom Inc.'s move into a broader gaming market, the MTV Network site covering any and all game-related videos will now be opening a new series dedicated to mobile gaming and their games, according to an official press release.

Entitled "Go Gaming" the video series will cover all available games-on-the-go for your mobile gaming handheld and your mobile phone. Amp'd customers will be the first to receive the new GameTrailers video content by the second quarter, after which all remaining carriers will follow suit.

There will be a focus on interviews, insider videos, gameplay trailers, editorial reviews and original shows on GameTrailers, all showcasing the new lease on life the innovative mobile gaming industry has breathed upon itself.

"This exciting launch allows us to reach gamers in a new way by bringing our original video game content directly to the user’s mobile device," GameTrailers' CEO Jon Slusser said. Underneath the huge umbrella of the MTV Network, GameTrailers will be able to utilize the Network's 40 mobile channels, 80 mobile distribution deals to deliver new-found content of mobile gaming viewing pleasure, right to your favorite mobile.
