LG dares to dream with LG Touch - Image 1Fresh in the consumer electronics scene is LG Electronics' concept design for an multi-touch multi-LCD iTouch, with a dock base similar to the never-to-be Foleo from Palm, and touch-type QWERTY keyboard surface, and even touch-screen playback controls. This new concept design is for the LG Touch, and it fuses functionality of an all-in-one mobile companion, a smartphone, and a portable entertainment device.

The concept design, all-sleek in black and neon green LED lighting and decorations, speaks volumes about LG's goals for the ultimate in class and features for the LG Touch. The iPhone concept, encased in a "Prada-ish" shell of shiny, black elegance, gets further glorified with multiple LCD displays dabbed at the edges of the device for displaying miscellaneous status massages...err, messages.

Love the dockable base? Aside from a glow, LED-lit QWERTY keyboard interface, it also serves as the LG Touch's charging station. The CYON headphone's wires also glow, neon green up to the ears, and one of the pair will even come with a hands-free headset microphone. It plugs to a neon, standard issue headphone socket (particulars unannounced) so you couldn't go wrong in plugging it in.

LG Shine Wood - Image 1LG Electronics' award-winning Shine phone now has a new and more down-to-earth variation. Introducing the LG Shine Wood LG-LB2500H, a DMB television-enabled phone sporting a grand-spanking retro chic retractable antenna that's sure to wow the fashionable set. Tree huggers shouldn't worry, however, since it's not actually made of wood despite its fine wood grain finish.

This new LG Shine variant sports DMB television compatibility, as well as an electronic dictionary. The phone is currently exclusive only to Korea, however, so unless you're willing to import this cool device its best to just ogle LG's Shine Wood from afar, at least for now.

LG Voyager dubbed iPhone killer by carrier Verizon - Image 1Apple and AT&T are currently facing some hurdles related to the iPhone. A good portion of the consumers are trying to hack it while some aren't happy with the business and marketing moves the two are making.

Based on this info we just got, you can now add LG's Voyager as one of iPhone's future headaches. Much like the iPhone, the Voyager also sports a sleek touch screen interface. However, it has some distinct advantages over Apple's baby as it offers faster wireless web access and a two megapixel built-in camera.

For those who prefer to be traditional, the Voyager has another screen for its small computer keypad. Verizon Wireless is also going to be the exclusive carrier of the Voyager and Verizon's Chief Marketing Officer Mike Lanman had this to say, "we think it'll be the best phone this year. It will kill the iPhone."

Market analyst Avi Greengart, however, had different view, "people who want a high-end media phone and want to stay with Verizon will certainly give that one a hard look. I don't know that it would pull anybody away from an iPhone." Verizon and LG have yet to give word on the phone's pricing and release date.

iPhone - Image 1Research group iSupply reports that Apple's popular iPhone has sold more handsets than any other smartphone this July. The group also expects the device to come out on top of the feature phone category when the year ends.

The iPhone beat Research in Motion's popular Blackberry models and dominated models from rivals Nokia and Motorola in the smartphone category which encompasses models that have computer-like features.

Under the feature phone category where units with recreational extras such as cameras and mp3 players are classified, the iPhone equaled the sales of market leader Chocolate, manufactured by Korean consumer electronics giant LG.

The iPhone is considered by iSupply as a crossover between the two major mobile phone types due to the diversity of the features included in it.

The firm projects around 4.5 million units of iPhone sold by year's end and suggests that 20 million units could be in North American homes in four years.

Telecom giant AT&T saw a quarter of all iPhone users jump to its fold by virtue of its exclusive deal with Apple. Worldwide sales are expected to pick up even more when the iPhone hits Europe in the last quarter of the year.
