Two great armies collide, and you must lead one of them to victory... on your mobile phones... in Gamevil's new real-time strategy game, Art of War. Developed by Gear Games, Art of War gives you command of your own army as you go through mission after mission to destroy the opposing forces. In the world of Art of War you will be taking command of the North Supreme Army and lead them against the Great East Army. The game features 3D rendered graphics and offers 3 levels of difficulty. In true RTS fashion you will have to build structures and train units as you go through your missions. It doesn't sound like a game you'll write home about but it looks like a good challenge to wile away the hours. The game is currently available for download on mobile phones. Gamevil is the same company who brought us titles such as Path of a Warrior: Imperial blood and Baseball Superstars 2007. |

Gamevil USA has opened the bull pen up and released Baseball Superstars 2007 for mobile phone platforms. The game follows up on the original with deeper gameplay to go with the already engrossing baseball action. The game features a lot more than the one-button hit per miss action of other baseball games. Game modes like the Homerun Derby add a unique twist to the fun. For true-blue diamond fanatics, there's My League where you can create your own Superstar and guide him as he rises from a scrappy rookie to an esteemed veteran. Gamevil business development VP Allen Lee expressed the company's pride in the title by stating "Baseball Superstars 2007 fills a prominent gap in the mobile baseball game market. The title is positioned as a lighter arcade-style baseball game, yet it has the deepest features in its class." Superstars of Baseball should provide hours of entertainment even to the non-baseball savvy mobile owners. Check your service provider for the game's availability. |

Mobile games publisher Gamevil announced that Path of a Warrior: Imperial Blood, already a big hit in Korea with over 30,000 games played daily, will be available to U.S. gamers. Path of a Warrior: Imperial Blood is an MMORPG for mobile phones set in a great empire ripped apart by a bloody civil war. Rival factions fight for ultimate control. Generals rise and fall on the national battlefield. Gamers assume the role of a solitary mercenary without set allegiance. They must choose which side to support and decimate all others with an arsenal of deadly weapons and martial arts techniques. And the fate of the empire will be determined by the player's decisions. Path of a Warrior: Imperial Blood players can engage in a variety of multiplay and co-op game sessions, guilds competition, one-on-one duelling, and building characters with over a thousand collectible weapons and items. According to the publisher, the game will re-define current concept about mobile gaming with "technologically impressive experience than many U.S. mobile gamers have ever seen." The stand-alone version is said to be more similar to console games than typical mobile titles. Gamevil will release the Path of a Warrior: Imperial Blood stand-alone version first, followed later by a network-enabled version where players will be able to discover online-only items, engage in four-way cooperative battles, unleash multiplayer melee in guild fights comprised of an unlimited amount of players, and take over rival player’s castles. |

Label me a geek, but when I hear the name "Nom" the first thing that comes to my mind is the kick-ass sand gorgon from Stephen R. Donaldson's second Thomas Covenant trilogy. That was the first thing I imagined when I heard Gamevil USA was bringing the Nom mobile game to the US. Of course, my hunch turned out to be wrong, but it was a weirdly pleasant kind of wrong. The Nom that we're talking about here is actually one of the South Korean mobile market’s biggest smash hits. Produced by Gamevil USA's parent studio in Seoul, Nom is just about as intuitive as a game can get. And just how intuitive is it, you ask? Well, get this: Nom's goal in life is to keep running at all costs, and you control Nom with just one button. Everything from leaping over bottomless pits and nasty traps to smooching his girl, Nom's moves can be done using just... one... button. This is a great game for people like me who just can't get the hang of all those little buttons that we have to press on our mobiles to play games (although handling a keyboard-controlled or console game with even more buttons that need to be pressed is a cinch. Weird, huh?). Even the most casual of casual gamers will find managing Nom a snap. Add to that the heaps of sight gags that pepper the whole game and you've got a title that's sure to be a hit. Gamevil USA is also doing a promotion that ties in to Nom's launch called the Gamevil Phe”NOM” Sweepstakes. To enter, all you have to do is download the Nom game onto your mobile phones and fill out an online form that can be found at Gamevil.com. The Gamevil Phe”NOM” Sweepstakes is scheduled to start upon the launch of Nom, and prizes include a Samsung LCD HDTV, Apple iPod Videos, and iTunes gift certificates. We'll be sure to keep an eye on this new mobile game, and we'll be keeping you guys updated as soon as more information surfaces. |
