Ok, I only wanted to post about this little gadget because I want one for myself. Logitech has released a new cordless laser mouse that has a clip dock on the laptop. Now you can stick the mouse to the laptop if you're not using it so you don't have to keep wondering where you put the darned thing. More in the full article. |

After seeing both Sony and Microsoft come up with their plans to release their own motion sensing controllers - or at least, rumored to be - it's not much of a surprise at all to see other companies follow suit. We're talking about the Asus Eee, by the way, and somehow drawing a connection between the ultraportable laptop and the games console may be a bit of a stretch...until you see some similarities in the FCC exhibits report image. Check out how the upcoming Asus Eee Stick motion-sensing peripheral after the jump. |

Taiwan-based company PQI has recently released their Traveling Disks series, called the "H Series". Aside from that there is also a built-in Webaroo offline browser. Webaroo downloads and saves internet packets of the website of your choice so the user could browse online contents offline using a laptop, PDA or a smartphone. Current models of the H series are the Cool Drive U310H, U350H and U339H. 512MB to 4GB variants are available and aside from the features mentioned above, they also boast faster read and write performances. To know more about these PQI goodies, head on over to the read link below which will take you to PQI's official site. |

Here's a cool feature for what's to come in mobile tech. Microvision has recently announced the release of their miniature digital projector - that little device on the right. The projector, according to Microvision, is designed to be embedded in future generation cell phones and PDAs, allowing users to beam images of their videos onto a nearby flat screen - like a wall. And to give you guys an idea of the unit's size, that rectangular object beside it is actually a mint chocolate piece. Since the thing is still a prototype, don't expect to find it in your shops anytime soon. However, for the guys who want a closer look, Microvision will be unveiling this gadget on this week's CES event in Las Vegas. Given the other previous announcements regarding the CES, we're expecting it to be something a tech fan's Nirvana for the next few days. Still, it would have been cool to see this thing mounted on a PSP or DS, and the possibilities it could mean for modding. Just think - Projector + GPS Pack = Shion's palm pilot from Xenosaga. |

Yes, we all know that sometimes things fail. But sometimes, things just fail in a sense that is beyond the net-speak use of the term fail can ever encompass . There are products, ideas, and concepts that are just too absolutely absurd, or to be nice, to "ahead of their time," that the mere thought of being associated with them induces a minor epileptic seizure.
TechEBlog has compiled a list of 5 gadgets you DO NOT want to be seen using. It's so odd and mind numbing that we decided to share the insanity with you, our beloved readers. Lets start. The Wearable Cell Phone Booth. This odd contraption was Created by Jenny Chowdhurry. It is basically "a wearable object you can carry around with you and set up when you need a moment to talk." Uh. Yeah. Get the rest of the insanity after the jump! |

A few months back, we mentioned something about Phantom Entertainment's Phantom Lapboard. Just what in the world is it? The Lapboard integrates a wireless laser mouse and a wireless keyboard with programmable hotkeys, plugged into a platform which makes it desktop and laptop friendly. Plus, the keyboard can rotate left or right, so lefties and righties could find it a joy to use. This baby is blessed with an almost $130 price tag.Phantom Entertainment, formerly known as Infinium Labs and creator of one of 2005's top vaporware, Phantom Console, is still unable to shake off their dubious image. But it seems that the Sun is shining a bit on the company nowadays. Why is that? Apparently, Dell-owned Alienware has placed orders for the Phantom Lapboard which will be used for their Media Center PCs and PC gear product line. According to Alienware Senior VP Frank Azor, "implementing the Phantom Wireless Lapboard as part of our Media Center solutions is an important extension of these key features, providing users with a convenient, flexible way to both work and have fun without being tied to a desk." As to how many Lapboards were ordered by Alienware, well, nobody knows. Your guesses are as good as ours. Hopefully, the beleaguered company could fully take advantage of this opportunity. They should know that they are given something that most banged-up companies could only wish for, and that is a second chance. |

The average laptop doesn't look so spiffy. At first glance, all you have is a black, blue, white, silver, gray, or any not-so-striking color with some vague logo on the cover. A lot of business people don't mind carrying their nondescript mobile presentation tools, but there's got to be a way to improve how it looks on the outside. Then, it becomes not only attractive, but it also transforms into a great medium of advertisement.LapLooks is the world's first mini-billboard for laptops. We know this may not sound like a great deal to most users, but laptops are used everywhere -- in meetings, presentations, Starbucks, hotels, airports, friends' homes, etc. If there's anyway to exploit the omnipresent mobile computer, it's to use it as an advertising tool. This is truly useful for sales people or anyone who wishes to customize the cover of their laptops to convey a message. You can order frames, photos, and have your own images uploaded at Laplooks website. We think this is just another engaging way to optimize your laptop's potential to the fullest, no matter where you wish to bring it. |

Model 431699 is the code to remember if you want to give your Laptop PC with some serious protection. An aluminum briefcase may be overkill but the knowledge that our personal machine is safe and sound can never be bought. The Aluminum Laptop PC Briefcase offers maximum security for most notebooks including those 15'' ones. The computer compartment is foam padded and pockets are provided for files and other accessories. The main laptop area has an adjustable divider as well. Aside from the conventional key-lock style that comes in with a padded shoulder strap, a combination lock model is also available. An aluminum briefcase is meant to be sturdy but the manufacturer, just to be certain, still offers a one year product warranty. the briefcase is available on line for $49.99 at ThinkGeek.com. |

Adding to the conundrum is the ironic fact that portability is almost always hindered in direct proportion to the durability, thickness and protective properties of the case being used. In other words, the more protective laptop carrying solutions usually come with the unwanted side effect of being heavy and cumbersome; while the light and easy to carry laptop cases are more portable, but offer little protection as a trade off. The trick is to find a laptop case that is both strong enough to offer protection and also portable. Finding a case that fills both of these necessities is difficult enough; finding one that you can walk around with and not look like a tool is near impossible! Since I am a student I decided to look for a more aesthetically pleasing solution than the common, rectangular, black, business-looking laptop cases. In the end I found the High Sierra Cove Island Laptop Computer Rucksack, which filled my needs and then some. Made from 1680-denier ballistic nylon and leather, this rucksack provides durability and strength without sacrificing portability. It can accept over-sized laptops (up to and above 17 inches) in a dedicated compartment that is isolated from the remaining structure of the bag and padded and rubberized to keep out water. There is a front pocket designed for storing small objects like CDs, cellphones and IPods and two side pockets that work well for storing power, Ethernet and USB cables. On the uppermost flap there is yet another zippered pocket that can be used for storage of miscellaneous extras. The main storage space inside the bag is right in front of the dedicated laptop area. This part of the bag is not divided into separate sections; which leads to my only complaint about the layout of the bag. In my case, I end up wasting about a cubic foot of valuable space because the main part of the bag is not divided into usable sections. Other than the minor issue with the main compartment being too large for me to use efficiently, this bag is definitely one that I am glad that I purchased. The quality of the material from which it is made, the attention to detail evident in its construction and the overall look and feel of this bag put it near the top of my list. I feel that the High Sierra Cove Island Laptop Computer Rucksack successfully blurs the line between providing adequate protection for your laptop and maintaining the desired level of portability; it also provides the added bonus of actually being stylish. This is definitely not your Father's computer backpack! |
