Motorola's Sidekick Slide - Image 1

Motorola's Sidekick Slide smartphone (otherwise known as the Motorola Zante) boggled the techies when it suddenly got pulled out of T-Mobile's product line. In the T-Mobile website, the product page for the Sidekick Slide has it listed as "Temporarily Unavailable."

A while later, T-Mobile finally gave an official statement. As it turns out, the reason why they had to pull out the product was because some devices were confirmed to have faulty sliding functions: every time the sliding panel were to be opened or closed, the phone would turn itself off.

Motorola, the manufacturers of the phone, is currently trying to find the root cause of this power glitch. Currently, what they do know is that the issue does not encompass Sidekick LX and iD devices.

For those who already have a Sidekick Slide and are experiencing these glitches, T-Mobile is offering your unit to be replaced. Correction: upgraded, actually. That little baby of yours gets to be replaced by a blue Sidekick LX with free shipping! Wohoo!
