Dell XPS M1530 - Image 1First exploding laptops, and now we have laptops that give their owners a shock of their lives. Folks working at CNET have noticed that Dell's new XPS M1530 laptops tend to zap people, with electrical shocks ranging from a mild tingling to a stunning jolt.

The reason? The staff at CNET noted that the power adaptors packed in along with the Dell  XPS M1530 laptops aren't properly earthed, due to a lack of a third prong in their plugs. Also, the laptops that have a very eye-pleasing brushed aluminum finish aren't so pleasing to the touch, as they are the most susceptible to give out electric shocks.

Dell was willing enough to provide replacements for the offending two-pronged power adaptors when they were called, but apparently did not consider the problem as a serious one. If you have the same laptop and are bugged with the same issues, you might as well call Dell to get your own power supply replacement; after all, you can't always avoid touching your laptop and expect work on it to be done.
