Apple iPhone - Image 1Researchers from investment firm Goldman Sachs have revealed that they believe Apple will be rolling out revisions for both the Apple iPhone and the Apple TV come next year.

According to AppleInsider, analyst David Bailey was advised by his Far Eastern contacts that the Cupertino-based company has "several new products lined up for 2008".

Among them is a second-generation iPhone which, according to Bailey, is currently in the "final design phase". The second-gen iPhone is estimated to launch in the second half of 2008. Before it becomes available, Bailey believes that Apple will first launch a smaller upgrade that has more flash memory.

Bailey also believes that Apple is working on some changes for the Apple TV. These changes could include an LCD display and are expected to come sometime in the second half of next year.

Apple's entire Mac line-up is also expected to be refreshed in 2008, but the potential launch of a subnotebook is still hazy. Bailey says according to one supplier, the product may be pushed out due to possible design issues.

 » no way

There is no possible way that the iPhone could substantially be updated any more than it is now. it has everything one would need and way more. I don't see how it could be any better. If you can come up with someways, tell me.

more memory?

 » hmmm

things they could fix:
- its not 3G
- more memory
- maybe a card expansion slot for MemoryStickPro or SD cards
- be able to take video
- be able to send picture and video texts
- maybe a better than 2MP camera (not really that big a deal to me)
- hurry up and allow 3rd party apps without having to unlock it.
- maybe come in more colors
- does it have push button feedback when you push the screen? (like a click or quick vibrate or something? i dunno)
- not be stuck with cingular (it'd be sweet if they made a CDMA version so verizon customers could use it)
- a USB slot would be nice to connect your thumb drive to it.
- make it so its not slave drive so you can use an attached thumb drive (even if you have to connect it through the bottom dock connector)
- oh yea... more memory.

can anyone else think of anything?
