Sandisk has just upped the ante on SD card storage, ladies and gents of the techie world. Sandisk has announced the development of a 12 GB microSDHC card, which is now being sent to major phone manufacturers for testing and evaluation.

The new card is a big boost in memory from existing 8GB microSDHC cards and, according to their release, can store approximately 24.5 hours of video, 3,600 photos, or 1,500 songs. That's definitely a lot to keep on your phone or other handheld device.
