 Samsung gesture-based phone interface - Image 1

You know how Tom Cruise did those fancy hand gestures in Minority Report to interact with the computer? Well, how would you feel if that kind of interface were applied in our current technology? Now how would you feel if it were used in mobile phones?

This is the new mobile phone idea that was patented by Samsung. According to the patent, the interface is based on hand gestures made by the user. Hand gestures are used for actions such as navigating, and even left- and right-clicking.

This is a curious idea, and interesting to be sure, but it strikes as a little... tiring. Surely it would be much easier to just exercise thumbs than exercise the arm and the hand? Or perhaps exercise was exactly the point of the phone to begin with?
