samsung logoSamsung has announced in Seoul, Korea that they are the very first in the world to be able to demonstrate the 4G or 4th generation mobile technology.

The successful demonstration was done on a bus moving 60 kilometers per hour where data transferred between mobile transmitters and receivers reached a speed of up to 100 Mbps. Samsung admits that there are still a lot of tweaking they would have to do with the current 4G system, but that they are also working on developing it even further.

Lee Ki-Tae, Samsung's Telecommunications Network Business president, said "we hope to drive development and standardization of 4G mobile technology with this successful demonstration, and to realize our dream of beginning the 4G era." Oooh, this is certainly a very interesting development and hopefully we'll get to see more of it on our mobiles, eh?
