Rengoku - Image 1

Hudson Entertainment's futuristic adventure game Rengoku is back, bringing the frenetic action to mobile phones instead of its previous platform, the PSP. "We are extremely pleased to bring this franchise to mobile phones," said John Greiner, CEO of Hudson Entertainment. "Rengoku is a perfect fit for the mobile platform, since it features a healthy dose of action and adventure that cell phone gamers are sure to relish."

Based on the PSP game Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory, the Rengoku game for mobile phones arms players with fully upgradable abilities and equipment, which is also one of the main features of the previous PlayStation Portable installments. There will be seven levels, each seen through a three-dimensional perspective. The enemies will be programmed with unique AI and will have different attack patterns.

While both Rengoku: The Tower of Purgatory and Rengoku II: The Stairway to H.E.A.V.E.N. were rather lackluster in presentation and gameplay, let's hope that the mobile phone version will be better. If not, at least it's a nice change from the usual games available for mobile phones.
