Accessories maker Tekkeon Inc. just announced a new portable USB power adopter known as myCharger to be used with many mainstream mobile phones and gadgets, as well as Apple products iPod and iPhone. The wide range of compatibility is attributed to the power charger's retractable prongs and several adapter tips.

Tekkeon Inc. Jerry Yang had this to say, "Rather than carry a power adapter for each device, myCharger lets users carry a single power adapter with a few tips. And myCharger is produced with high quality components to regulate the output voltage and current to ensure optimum charging conditions for the device battery".

The device myCharger is said to work with the following: iPhone and iPod (uses iPhone/iPod USB cable), Blackberry, and mobile phones from LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson. Using the said adapter tips will make myCharger also compatible with other 5V devices like Bluetooth headsets, digital cameras, MP3 players, and PDAs.

SanDisk 2GB memory card, US$ 29.99 at Best Buy - Image 1If you're looking for a new memory card to hold your files, then you might want to check out Best Buy. The company's currently advertising that SanDisk 2GB Secure Digital Memory Cards can now be bought for US$ 29.99 a pop. That's twenty bucks off the regular price of US$ 49.99.

That's also US$ 50 cheaper than, for example, a PNY Secure Digital memory card with the same storage capacity. Yeah, it's a pretty OK bargain, if you ask us. Of course, with Best Buy's recent admission of the existence their secret Intranet site (which was "never meant to mislead customers," or so the company says), you might want to be extra careful.

Thanks to jpcguy89 for the heads up!

Thylus - Image 1With all the DS accessories and whatnot coming out in the market right now, you gotta give much props to people who still set out to materialize the innovative gaming ideas in their heads. What are we talking about exactly?

Well, here's a nifty stylus which makes touchscreen-poking a lot easier. Sure, you've seen the solid brass stylus, as well as the 18-karat gold one. But while those were really cool, this thumb-stylus innovation would be getting a lotta thumbs up from DS users.

Fellas, check out the "Thylus", the very first stylus you get to wear on your thumbs. Don't own a DS/DS Lite? Well, the Thylus isn't just for DS users y'know. This can also be used on all touchscreen-donning gadgets like your Palm Pilots, GPS touchscreens, and tons more.

I dunno about you guys, but I would take the Thylus over the weird-ass Pokemon stylus anytime. Yours for only US$ 6.00 (plus US$ 2.00 shipping), you can now place your orders by clicking on the read link below.

Micro projector

Here's a cool feature for what's to come in mobile tech. Microvision has recently announced the release of their miniature digital projector - that little device on the right. The projector, according to Microvision, is designed to be embedded in future generation cell phones and PDAs, allowing users to beam images of their videos onto a nearby flat screen - like a wall. And to give you guys an idea of the unit's size, that rectangular object beside it is actually a mint chocolate piece.

Since the thing is still a prototype, don't expect to find it in your shops anytime soon. However, for the guys who want a closer look, Microvision will be unveiling this gadget on this week's CES event in Las Vegas. Given the other previous announcements regarding the CES, we're expecting it to be something a tech fan's Nirvana for the next few days.

Still, it would have been cool to see this thing mounted on a PSP or DS, and the possibilities it could mean for modding. Just think - Projector + GPS Pack = Shion's palm pilot from Xenosaga.

SANQUA 6 - Image 1 SANQUA 6 - Image 2

As mentioned by my co-blogger, Max when he covered the same mag a few months back,"this is one of the best looking PSP magazines we've eveer seen". I personally couldn't agree with him more. Just what are we talking about? Well, the team behind the Frech magazine, SANQUA, has recently unveiled Horizons 6 of their mag. And as always, they've added that classic, picturesque touch to it, that's why most of us here don't mind if we can't read French...it's really pretty to look at anyway.

Anyhow, looking through it, we saw that they have a section that seems to be dedicated to the Gran Turismo HD demo. There are also numerous interviews with different gaming personalities. Aside from that, the SANQUA team also covered the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii console launches. The magazine has a whopping 298 pages, so for our readers who know French, this would be a treat. And since it's the spirit of giving, why don't you share to us (and to every QJ reader) some tidbits from this issue? Download link's right there! Have fun you guys!

The high-speed 4GB bad boy from TranscendMemory, memory, and more memory. It's practically turned into a modern-day mantra. If you mention that you are a proud owner of a 32MB memory card, chances are that whoever you're talking to will give you a look that says, "So, which cave are you from?" And that's if you're lucky.

These days it's all about the Gs, as in GIGAbytes, and the memory card companies are scrambling all over each other to put out the biggest and fastest out there on the market. Big and fast. Now that's a pair that describes Taipei-Transcend Information's new 4GB high-speed SD High Capacity (SDHC) Class 6 card.

These cards are the wave of the future, if you'll forgive the cliche. The SDHC is the new generation of SD cards (Version 2.0) that, if formatted in FAT32, can reach up to an enormous 32GB capacity. Imagine that! Up to 32GB in a tiny, tiny package. Plus, it's got high-speed data transfer capabilities, so if you've got one of those new SDHC devices like the Panasonic DMC-L1 camera, then you're gonna love this card.

Produced using original NAND Flash chips for optimum life and performance, Transcend's 4GB SDHC memory cards also come with a write-protect feature, so no more worrying about accidentally deleting or overwriting all of those super-important files you stored in 'em. These babies also support Error Correcting code, In-System Programming, and power down and sleep modes.

No word yet on pricing and availability for these babies, but we'll be sure to let you know once we get our hands on that info.

Project-a-PhoneHas it ever happened to you, that your day was just going so utterly bad that, by the time you're about to present your slideshow, your flash drive formats itself, and bye-bye goes your presentation? I usually had my presentations in my mobile phone, but it really wasn't much use with a 3 in. x 2 in. screen.

Well, Project-a-Phone has just announced the launch of their new projection device, the ICD-5000 Image Capture and Display System. All you have to do is mount your phone/PDA on the clamps and connect the USB to the PC. The device can take screenshots of your mobile with resolutions of up to 3.15 megapixels. It's clocked at $ 395, and is available at their website.

If this device won't get their attention, at least you're sure your presentation will.

Just when we thought we've seen the most creatively made keyboards out there, along comes another one. Although this one isn't virtual, and no it's not made of silicon and attached to the breasts, but it definitely beats the others when it comes to size. Check out this Mini Bluetooth Keyboard that works with your Palm OS, Pocket PC, Smart Phone and PC!

Yep, it's that small and thin. The Mini Bluetooth Keyboard measures approximately 95x70x13mm (when folded, that is), weighs 80g, and is encased in metallic silver so it's easy on the eyes too. This sleek and stylish keyboard is compatible with the following operating systems: Pocket PC(Pocket PC 2003 / Windows Mobile 5.0), Palm OS, Symbian 6.0/UIQ, and Windows 2000/XP.

Included in the package upon purchase is Bluetooth keyboard (duh), CD driver, USB cable, leather case, and english manual. This baby is being sold in HongKong for HK$450 and US$56 for overseas purchase. Kudos to Brando for the tip!

Ó

HiPADAs the market for ultra-portable computers continues to expand and manufacturers scramble to meet demand while also trying to keep consumers interested in their products, originality and uniqueness are sometimes lost and products start to blend into a sea of blandness.

Leave it to Korea to buck current trends and release an ultra-portable that is truly without peer. The HiPAD (or HiPDA I've seen it written both ways on the same site!) is a tablet PC, or at least it looks like one. At the heart of the machine is an AMD Geode LX-800 CPU; a processor that is a compromise between power and efficiency.

With an available Gigabyte for memory (256MB standard) the processor will not have memory bottlenecks to slow it down. The most unique thing about the HiPAD has got to be it's ability to run both Windows XP (tablet edition) and Windows CE. The touch screen allows you to take advantage of the best features included with XP tablet edition while still giving you the option to run "normal" PC software designed for Windows XP.

WiFI, DMB and HSDPA provide connectivity and media services for the device. PCMCIA and CF slots provide effective expansion capabilities to the little portable that hint at some interesting possibilities. With Windows CE underpinning the media player and PDA-like functionality and XP tablet edition taking care of the tasks that involve heavy lifting (or heavy processing), it's almost like having two devices in one.

There is also a camera and navigation software embedded within the device. This hybrid-like device has a 10.4 inch touch screen, is one inch thick and weighs 2.9 pounds. For those who care about looks, the HiPAD isn't at all bad looking either! It has a sleek, smart design that only hints at the amount of productivity it can help you to achieve.

There's no word on cost as of this post. The amount of features packed into this tiny portable make it attractive, but price is always an issue. Hopefully, we'll see a version of the HiPAD in the US. American consumers would go crazy for a device like this if it was marketed well. (hint!)
