Schoolchildren using their XO laptops - Image 1This time it's not a delay, but a deadline extension: in order to give people more time to participate in their Give One Get One Program, the One Laptop Per Child Foundation (OLPC), has decided to extend their Give One Get One program up to December 31.

In the Give One Get One program, buyers purchase two XO laptop computers for US$399-one of which goes to the buyer, while the other to a less fortunate child in a developing country.

The Give One Get One Program was launched last November 12, and was originally slated to run for only two weeks. However, Nicholas Negroponte, founder and chairman of One Laptop Per Child Foundation, noted that because so many generous people have asked for an extension of the program's deadline, OLPC decided to grant their request in the spirit of the upcoming Christmas season.

If you'd like to help support the education of an underprivileged child, OLPC will be more than happy to accept your donations. To find out how to participate in OLPC's Give One Get One program, just click on the source link below.
