The GeForce 8M lines is going to be yesteryear's technology, because NVIDIA released its top of the line mobile graphics solutions for laptop manufacturing firms some time earlier. The first two models of the new GeForce 9M line will be the GeForce 9800M (GTX, GT, and GTS varieties confirmed) and the 9700M (GT, GTS varieties confirmed).

Both cards will come with PhysX driver support out of the box and carry from 32 to 112 streaming shader cores (same as the 9800 GT, 8800 GT) depending on the model that clock in from 1,675 MHz to 1,895 MHz. Core clock rates stay even at 500 MHz all across the board. Cores only differing by the chip specification (G92 for the highest end and G96 for the lowest end)

As the flagship model, the G92-spec GeForce 9800M GTX comes armed with 1 GB of GDDR3 RAM with a base clock of 900 MHz. Oh, and we're told it's completely dedicated and doesn't share with system RAM. Need a better picture? We've compiled the preliminaries below, but they could change as motherboard manufacturers tweak them for their own gains.

GeForce 9700M GTS

• Core: G94-spec at 500 MHz
• Shaders/clock: 48 streaming shaders at 1895 MHz
• Computing power: 180 GFLOPS
• Memory: 256-bit interface with base clock of 900 MHz

GeForce 9800M GTS

• Core: G94-spec at 500 MHz
• Shaders/clock: 64 streaming shaders at 1895 MHz
• Computing power: 240 GFLOPS
• Memory: 256-bit interface with base clock of 900 MHz

GeForce 9800M GT

• Core: G94-spec at 500 MHz
• Shaders/clock: 96 streaming shaders at 1895 MHz
• Computing power: 360 GFLOPS
• Memory: 256-bit interface with base clock of 900 MHz

GeForce 9800M GTX

• Core: G92-spec at 500 MHz
• Shaders/clock: 112 streaming shaders at 1895 MHz
• Computing power: 420 GFLOPS
• Memory: 256-bit interface with base clock of 900 MHz
