N-Gage Nokia, pushing mobile video games - Image 1Video games have come a long way. Right now, even mobile phone companies such as Nokia are pushing for its development in their hardware.

One of the most competitive in this arena is the N-Gage, and it looks like it has a new bag of tricks.

Will Shen, Head of Production of the N-Gage in North America, has revealed that the mobile phone / game platform will be looking for new, innovative ways for mobile gaming.

When you're a developer, you use the tools that are at your disposal, and there's more to your disposal in phones that just the keyboard. It seems N-Gage will be making full use of this and will be developing games that will use the phone's various features and capabilities.

Shen revealed that the phone will be getting games that make use of the phone's camera, GPS receiver, and even its contact book. As an example of this form of interactivity, Shen posited a "monster you can feed photographs from the phone's camera."

It's a concept with a lot of potential, and we're curious as to what kind of games they have in mind. It would be pretty interesting to see these games in action. At the least, it would be more interesting than playing games with just the keypad.
