Motorola4G handsets are believed to be the next-generation phones, and Motorola is making sure it's right in the thick of the action. Although 4G phones and services are still years away, Motorola is hoping to be the forerunner in the development of this technology.

According to Motorola, the technology being developed will enable better and more flexible communication, as these newfangled phones and the networks they'll work on will far outpace existing networks - they'll run at better than 2 megabits per second. With the new 4G technology, streaming video from the internet and TV will be easier to bring to users.

Motorola is supposedly looking at WiMax, another high-speed wireless technology that will be faster than Wi-Fi, to incorporate into the 4G technology they're developing.
