LG Electronics - Image 1Electronics consumers planning to buy low-cost notebooks with widescreen displays sometime this year can expect the monitors of their little babies to come from Korea's LG Display.

With the recent high demand for low-cost laptop PCs, LG Display is now filling in the demand with its plethora of widescreen panels.

One of the displays that the manufacturer will roll out is a 8.9-inch display that features a resolution of 1024x600. It will be included in the 5G line, which will be launched in August this year and will be used by Acer and Hewlett-Packard.

Afterwards LG Display will released a 10.1-inch panel with 1024x576 (16:9) resolution in October, and another widescreen 9.4-inch panel in April 2009. The computer manufacturers who will adopt these monitors for their laptops are currently not disclosed, but they will be targeted towards the low-cost notebook market.
