After more than half a year of waiting, JoWooD has finally announced the release of its highly acclaimed Gothic title for the mobile gaming platform with Gothic 3 - The Beginning. The game was developed by HandyGames and has already received several awards for its engaging story and RPG elements taken from its PC counterpart.

Speaking of which, the game is actually set 140 years before the events of the Gothic storyline on the PC. Players take control of Xardas, the chosen champion of the God Innos from the Island of Kohrinis, whose mission is to capture and return the magic rune stones to his people.

The scope of the game on such a small gaming platform is quite amazing. It offers a lot of things for the players to do as they explore various locations in the Gothic game world, as well as interact with the many NPC there. Other features include a robust combat system and an auto-save feature for players to easily pick up where they left off since their last adventure.
