HP iPAQ 900 - Image 1

There finally seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel for Hewlett-Packard's smartphone collection and their bid to debut in the US market. The latest FCC posting suggests that the HP iPAQ 900 is under scrutiny from the communications board.

As some of you may know, the iPAQ has debuted in other parts of the world without the kind of smashing success that its rivals have had. The Windows Mobile-based handset will try its luck now on one of the biggest untapped mobile neighborhoods on Earth.

Will we see a change of fortunes for HP's mobile phone portfolio if the iPAQ makes it into store shelves? We'll see.
