Asus EcoBook - Image 1

How green can you get? It looks like Asus is going eco-friendly as it releases its EcoBook. It's a laptop that sports bamboo panelling. You read it right. Bamboo.

Bamboo, as we all know, is a giant grass known to be the favorite chow of pandas. The new Asus EcoBook features individual bamboo panelling attached to the main unit. When a panel gets damaged, you can always have it replaced. The laptop also includes a bigger trackpad to allow for writing space, so all you need is a stylus or your finger to enter text. The LED status lights are installed underneath the mouse trackpad, according to Asus it's cheaper that way.

It also has a PowerGear button that will tell you how much power you're consuming. Oh, and it's biodegradable, too. The only thing we regret is not knowing what's under the hood, since it's due to launch next year. Anyway, we'll keep you posted on the Asus EcoBook. You can check out more images below.
