Special celebratory logo issued by Electronic Arts for The Sims - Image 1Developer Electronic Arts celebrated a significant milestone to its best selling The Sims franchise as it hit the 100 million unit sales mark today.

Ever since the first The Sims title went live on the PC in 2000, the franchise has expanded to various gaming platforms and even to mobile devices. The Sims has found itself in 60 countries around the world, with 22 local translations added to its name.

Even today gamers still enjoy living the virtual life through their adorable Sims avatars. The latest iteration in the franchise, The Sims 2, continues the legacy by inspiring everyone to create interesting stories through their Sims. TheSims2.com boasts more than 70 million user-generated creations and has more than 4.3 million unique visitors per month.

As thanks to the many players who've contributed towards its world-wide fame, The Sims 2 website is offering an exclusive complimentary outfit for your Sims in honor of this milestone. The outfit will become available as a downloadable add-on this April 16, so make sure to get dressed for the occasion and show your love for the game.
