Japanese mobile phone maker DoCoMo has announced its latest model patterned after 2006's hit FOMA SA800i handset. It's called the F801i and it has some very impressive child-oriented features.

That statement may give you the impression that the F801i is all fun and games, but it's actually a lot more than that. Its safety features for kids is unmatched by many products currently on the market.

The main safety feature of the F801i is the 100 decibel alarm that children can activate when in trouble. Along with it, a high-intensity LED goes off to warn those in the vicinity of danger.

The mobile phone can also send an SMS to family members with a simple press of a button. The location of the child is automatically given away. Even if the handset is turned off, it turns itself back on in 5 minutes and prompts parents and guardians of the incident.

The F801i is set for release in Japan soon, with a U.S. version slated for next year. We'll watch out for this nice little tool that keeps kids away from harm.
