Capcom games on N-Gage in 2008 - Image 1After announcing the next N-Gage model, mobile phone giant Nokia has been enjoying a lot of support from different developers and publishers. When last we looked, there were around 35 games currently in development for the said platform. Given its user base though, we're pretty certain more are coming, and that's certainly the case in this news article.

Earlier today, Capcom announced that it will also be supplying games for the N-Gage, making it the first Japan-based publisher to show commitment to the mobile phone. Yosuke Yoneda, Director of Capcom's European Mobile Division, had this to say about the new arrangement:

Capcom is dedicated to creating great mobile games, and believes that N-Gage will allow us to bring some of our most famous franchises to the platform. Our dedication to quality and creative thinking has seen the company produce a series of ground-breaking titles, with stunning visuals and in-depth game play, never before seen on the mobile.

Likewise, Nokia Director of Third Party Publishing Gregg Sauter added that it was very important for them to have strong global partners. Quite interestingly, Sauter added:

The N-Gage platform will enable this evolution with devices that deliver enhanced graphics and a development tool kit that allows for online tournaments, communities, multiplayer games and, of course, global distribution.

The new N-Gage is expected to launch later this year, with Capcom's first batch of games slated for release next year.
