If you were planning on getting the very sleek and very cute Asus EeePC 900 - no doubt the name was coined after a few members of the female persuasion squealed at how terrifyingly compact this thing is - then you'd better read up. It seems that something about the newly-released laptop is not what it first seemed, but not to worry - it's still a very worthwhile purchase.

So, what's the deal, then? The fact is that the Hong Kong and Taiwan release models are still using the same 900MHz Celeron M processor as the original Eee PC 701, and not the Intel Atom promised in CeBIT. While this may not seem to be a big of an issue to some - the thing still runs at a full 900 MHz even without overclocking - it could present itself as a bottleneck when one loads it with the CPU-demanding Windows XP.

And that's it - but not quite. That was the bad news. The good news is that the laptop itself does come with the recently-discovered multi-touch trackpad, and in the video below, you'll be able to see it in action. No more tap-tapping your way into laptop confusion - now you can do it with two fingers! Enjoy!
